REIKI - AN OVERVIEW

Reiki was 're-discovered' in Japan at the end of the 19th century by Dr Mikao Usui. It is a gentle yet powerful form of healing.

The word Reiki means Universal Energy or Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy. This is the vital energy which permeates all of life.

Reiki accelerates your body's own natural healing ability, opening the mind and spirit to the causes of disease and pain. Healing can then take place not only on the physical level but also on the mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

Reiki is a completely safe method of healing and self-improvement which can be safely enjoyed by adults, teenagers, children and babies alike. Even animals love it!

It can be received as a very relaxing, beneficial treatment or it can be learned by young or old and there is no prior qualification or knowledge necessary, just an interest in self-healing and healing others.

It is amazing how Reiki can improve lives!

Discovering the Roots of Reiki in Japan, 2003.

In 2003, I was fortunate to be able to visit Japan and experience the place where Mikao Usui meditated for 21 days - The Temple at Mt Kurama, outside Kyoto City.

I also visited his family grave and the Memorial Stone in Suginami District, just outside Tokyo City. The Memorial Stone was placed there by his students when he died and is inscribed with his life story and his students' names.
