FAQ
A: Reiki was 're-discovered' in Japan at the end of the 19th century by Dr Mikao Usui. It is a gentle yet powerful form of healing. The word Reiki means "Universal Energy" or "Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy". This is the vital energy which permeates all of life. Reiki accelerates your body's own natural healing ability, opening the mind and spirit to the causes of disease and pain. Healing can then take place not only on the physical level but also on the mental, emotional and spiritual levels. Reiki is completely safe method of healing and self-improvement which can be safely used on adults, teenagers, children and babies alike. Even animals love it!
A: The Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai is the original association of Dr Usui. It is a closed sect and all information on processes, techniques, empowerments etc., that the Gakkai use to strengthen their Reiki and further empower their students have been kept secret until Autumn of 1999. At that time Mr Hiroshi Doi, a student/master of the Gakkai, gave some of this important information at a seminar in Canada. The information he gave bridges our practice of Reiki in the West to that of the Gakkai in Japan. This information is included in all the Reiki Wales Training Courses.
A: Reiki heals at a very deep level finding the causal level in order to clear the physical condition. It reduces stress and clears out toxicity. It boosts the immune system. Reiki helps in the grieving process. It enhances creativity, learning, communication & concentration. It aids in faster recovery from surgery. Reiki also enhances and supports all medical treatments and procedures and may be used for acute or chronic conditions.
A: There are 4 degrees involved in learning Reiki with Reiki-Wales. At each degree you will receive an attunement by a Reiki Master Teacher. Each attunement allows you to channel more/stronger energy. Each attunement also heightens your intuitional ability and sensitivity. The attunements are not purely for you to give Reiki to others but are a process toward your own spiritual progress and understanding.
A: There are no academic qualifications needed to become a Reiki healer, only a sincere desire to improve your own physical, mental, emotional and spiritual life and that of those who seek your healing. Reiki is not just about healing others but is more a way of life with its own set of principles, morals and ethics.
A: You need to talk to the potential Reiki Master and ask as many questions as possible. What qualifications do they have and what experience. Then find out what back-up is available after the course. This is important as you will be starting on a life journey and you don't want to be left stranded with nobody to give you directions. By asking these questions you will get an idea of how you feel about this particular Reiki Master and the course they are offering.
